1,250 Days Later

Hello Everyone,

It has been around 3 Years and 5 Months since we abandoned this blog. Well, 1,250 Days to be precise.

Then, why restart now?

Well, one of our Darlings recently asked us about this blog and it got us reading all our own posts once again. It felt wonderful to go through all our stories and the love that we received in the comments. So, thank you Sony for inspiring us to write again!

So after several false starts (like getting a custom domain - God! That feels so silly now!), we have decided to give this another go. Well, I have! Jane is yet to be convinced about this.

Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

I met my Mom-in-Law when I was 16. I mean, at that point I didn't know that she will eventually become my family. When I first met her, I was intimidated, for she appeared to be strict and hmmm... Bossy! She was managing two teenagers at home, with Uncle being abroad, and did an amazing job of it. So in my eyes, she was one of those strong and independent types. Later, I fell in love with her son - She didn't like it. I refused to back down - more dislike from her side. I went ahead and got married to him - more hatred towards me and finally became mom to her granddaughter!

Homecoming

It was already dark by the time we reached town. We were driving since the past one and half hours and silence sat between us like a truce. Lil Doe slept throughout the journey giving us plenty of time to prep ourselves for what lay ahead. I had rehearsed this scene a million times in a million different ways and yet the butterflies in my stomach wouldn't stop fluttering. I looked at John as he was driving, focused on the road, but I could sense the holocaust in this mind.

4 years! 4 years since we got married, against all odds. 
4 years since he has seen or heard from his parents or sister. 
4 years of being detached from the whole family - For choosing me over them!

And... We are Back! *BOOM*

And this time, it is for real...

Trust me! We promise to be regular hereafter!

And here is why:

1. For starters, we got a new URL!
Yay! We have been planning this for ages, but we were worried about more (trivial!) things like the Alexa Rank etc. Now that this blog was anyway as good as dead... 

A Million Tiny Little Things...

Dear Jane, 

This one is for you!

For the 12 Years that we have been together now! For many more that are yet to come!

Since I did not get you anything for this anniversary (Sorry!), I will let you in on a little secret - I started this blog for You! You always have made fun of me for being Public-Display-of-Affection-Challenged. So, this was secretly my way of telling the world how much you meant to me!

So, I decided that the best gift I can give you is to revive our blog... And that's just what I plan to (FINALLY!) do for you this year!

When Did I Become a Mother!

Time is 11.45 pm. My eyes are so droopy and sleep is brushing against my eyelashes. The words forming in my head don't find their way to my fingertips. I just want to sleep. But I won't; cos I so badly want to write a post. Its been almost 8 months since I have written anything here; or anywhere. 

Lil Doe will turn ONE in 2 weeks and 6 days. Its been an year since we embraced Parenthood; and did time just fly in the snap of a finger? No, No way. The year dragged and nagged with a hell lot of sleepless nights, rushed meals, pee, poop and spit-ups drenched clothes, 2 min baths, colic episodes and vaccination horrors. 

When we look back --exactly one year back, this was what we wanted then and this is what we have now. We have our little girl who has already started calling us Amma and Acha! And yes, we are happy, contented and above all, so much thankful to the Almighty!

Revenge of the Father!

So, I will start by addressing the elephant in the room... Yes, we have been M.I.A since almost 8 months now. There are a couple of reasons for this - Reason One, we started telling ourselves that this blog is getting pretty boring. Posting all the pregnancy stuff and then the baby stuff made it sound like - "Oooh! Look how perfect our life is! Too bad yours sucks!". So, we decided to take a break.

And Reason Two - WE ARE PARENTS NOW!

Let me make one thing very clear - Nothing, NOTHING in the whole wide world had prepared me for taking care of a baby! I mean, they should make this stuff mandatory at school and have regular exams and practicals and stuff. I'm serious!

And, the worst part is nobody warns you about this until you are already there. I mean, COME ON, I'm pretty sure every parent in the world has gone through this. But all they tell you is how lovely it is to have a child. Don't get me wrong, it is indeed wonderful - but it comes with its downsides. No more time for movies, no more time for books, no more time for friends, etc.

But then, you tend to miss some things more than the others...

So here I am..... stepping onto my Amma's and Achan's blogo-sphere!

This is my second month here outside.. so far, so good with all your prayers and blessings. Just wanted to tell you my birth story with all its glory before my over-enthusiastic dad or mom spill it out.

Lil' Doe is Here - 04 March 2014!

Our little angel arrived at 12:55PM on Tuesday, 04 March 2014. Both Mommy and Baby are well, and Daddy can't stop grinning ear-to-ear! :D

If you were born in the eighties, you sure could link so much with each picture in the above mentioned article. Well, I could! I was nodding to almost all the pictures and wondering what was wrong with our parents’ fashion sense.  However we were spared from a great deal of embarrassment because almost all our friends were also wearing funny looking dresses and we can blame it on the entire parents’ fraternity! Phew!

Onward We "March" - One Baby Step at a Time!

Yes, I know you have not heard from us since long now.

That is because we thought that we are going a wee bit overboard with all the pregnancy updates (in our defense, we were really excited to share every lil' news with you). So we thought we just leave that countdown ticker (from Lilypie) up there (which shows the progress that our lil' one is making) and just leave it at that.

Now that it has been 3 months since the last post from Jane, we thought we should say "Hey" and let you know that all is well.

Back with More News!

Hope you noticed our new banner (it is pretty damn big, so chances are you have!). As of 04 July 2013 we are Nine n' Countin now! Wohoo!!! 

So, I guess Jane has already given an idea on why we have not been posting much recently.

As you guessed, things have been pretty bad with us. And, somehow, we have managed to cope with it all. All thanks to my Woman of Steel, who supported me throughout everything that happened - despite she being the one who needed the most support. I also owe a lot to some of my colleagues, who went beyond their ways to support me. True friends!

But, it is now (as always) time to move on... And so, here I am with more updates...

Where Were We?

Seven and counting has not gone into the ashes! We have been absconding for a while and after four long months, we are back. As you have guessed, a lot of things have happened in these four months, a lot of surprises and disbelief!

Well, when John almost gave up on me after continuously asking to write, here I am back with a post. After his wonderful last post, I feel like being a snob for not posting or even replying to him. I have been ignoring the blog for while (yes, I admit it!); not because I lost interest but I didn’t have a moment of spare time once I joined this company. And secondly, I have been preoccupied with an issue that every couple has to face once they are married.

2012 has gone by - An important and eventful year for us!

Here are 12 things from 2012 that mean the world to me:

1. January:
A great month for us - we took the plunge, together, and registered our marriage in Bangalore. You were your bravest when I was completely lost. You took care of me like nobody ever did or will do. Thank You for telling me that you will always be with me.

2. February:
The preparations for a wedding now. I could have never done it without you (pun intended). Thank You for managing everything from the guests list to all the shopping - zero tension for me.

The True Story of How I Met Your Mother

Kids, this is the story of How I Met Your Mother. And, thankfully the story does not span over 8 Seasons of endless, repetitive, boring comedy.

I will try to keep it as short as possible.

Episode 1

"The new neighbors are moving in today", mom shouted. She seemed so excited. I dragged myself out of bed. I wake up at noon when there are no classes. That is something that has not changed or even shown the signs of changing till now. The year is 2003. It is winter and it was quite cool even though the sun was right above my head.

"Will you please get your ass out of bed, John?"

First of all, let us get the obvious stuff out of the way - MEN LIE TO THEIR WIFE! Yes, they do! Every man does it! The only thing that matters being the magnitude of the lie told and the reason for lying.

Some of us lie just to make our woman happy, the most common of which, I guess, is - "Yes Honey, You look wonderful!". Some lie to avoid a fight - "What? No, this is just my second cigarette of the day!". And some do just not to hurt her - "Never! I would never even glance at another woman!"
