12 Things I Love About You

2012 has gone by - An important and eventful year for us!

This one is for you, Jane :)

Here are 12 things from 2012 that mean the world to me:

1. January:
A great month for us - we took the plunge, together, and registered our marriage in Bangalore. You were your bravest when I was completely lost. You took care of me like nobody ever did or will do. Thank You for telling me that you will always be with me.

2. February:
The preparations for a wedding now. I could have never done it without you (pun intended). Thank You for managing everything from the guests list to all the shopping - zero tension for me.

The True Story of How I Met Your Mother

Kids, this is the story of How I Met Your Mother. And, thankfully the story does not span over 8 Seasons of endless, repetitive, boring comedy.

I will try to keep it as short as possible.

Episode 1

"The new neighbors are moving in today", mom shouted. She seemed so excited. I dragged myself out of bed. I wake up at noon when there are no classes. That is something that has not changed or even shown the signs of changing till now. The year is 2003. It is winter and it was quite cool even though the sun was right above my head.

"Will you please get your ass out of bed, John?"

To Tell Her, or Not! That is the Question!

What to tell your Wife and What Not? That is the ultimate question for every man out there...

First of all, let us get the obvious stuff out of the way - MEN LIE TO THEIR WIFE! Yes, they do! Every man does it! The only thing that matters being the magnitude of the lie told and the reason for lying.

Some of us lie just to make our woman happy, the most common of which, I guess, is - "Yes Honey, You look wonderful!". Some lie to avoid a fight - "What? No, this is just my second cigarette of the day!". And some do just not to hurt her - "Never! I would never even glance at another woman!"

Being a Housewife!

“I would be content being a housewife if I could find the kind of man who wouldn't treat me like one”

How it feels to be a housewife? All the housewives out there will have their own experiences and verdicts. But I will say being a house wife is simply awesome!

Bye-Bye Sea Shell:
The check-out time at Sea Shell resort is 11:00AM. So, we decided to pack everything up and check-out and leave the bags in the car while we visit the last thing on our itinerary at Havelock - Kalapathar Beach. It is with a heavy heart that we bid goodbye to Sea Shell. Loved the resort, its private beach, its splendid bar and restaurant. We will be back there soon!

Setting Sail:

The day we sail out to Havelock Island... The day we were waiting for!

Get a good night's sleep, for the day starts really early. I mean, we-were-at-the-docks-at-06:00AM early! We received our tickets for the ship from AITPL yesterday night.

A Holiday at Andaman - A Review - Day 2

This is Part III. If you have not read Part II of this review, you can do so by clicking here --> Day 1

Day 2: 16 June, 2012

Today is the day of the 3 Island cruise. The 3 islands to be covered were Ross Island, Viper Island, and North Bay Island.
Do not mistake the word cruise here - for you will be taken along on a big run down boat. Nothing too fancy. And the boat will be filled with a lot of other tourists - so it is just a ferry and not a cruise.

Day 1: 15 June, 2012

Arrive at Port Blair:
Uneventful flight. Landed at Port Blair Airport at 06:00AM. Port Blair airport is really small and looks more like a farmhouse with a small runway. Tip: Photography is not allowed at Port Blair Airport. The area is filled with AK-47 wielding soldiers everywhere, including the runway.

A Holiday at Andaman - A Review - Day 0

Hi All,

This is an extensive review of our honeymoon holiday at Andaman. This includes all DOs, DONTs, Costs, Tips, and Suggestions... I have covered as much as I could... If there are more queries, please feel free to email me! All times mentioned here are in IST (Indian Standard Time) and all prices in INR (Indian Rupees).

If all you are looking for is a summary [and do not want to read the whole thing ;)] then just go to the last post by clicking here!

Day 0: 14 June, 2012

Post-wedding, we have been hunting for honeymoon locations. The basic idea was to travel within India under the belief that "When there are amazing places in India, why go abroad?" After a lot of discussions, we decided on Andaman (Rajasthan came in a close second) and set out hunting for great packages. In short, we were not disappointed.

The One with the Boob-Starer!

"Hey! Rohit is coming over this weekend?" For someone who loves playing the host more than a guest ever since I was a kid, I always had friends over. Always!

"For what?" came the reply from someone who hates being either the host or the guest! All that Opposites Attract nonsense! ;)

"What do you mean, for what? He is just coming. Will have a couple of beers and leave!" I responded.

"Ya... Ok!" I could see that she was not happy. After I ask her a number of times, she gives up and says, "You please don't feel bad.... but... he stares!"

Ugly Duckling!

All Good Things Come in Small Packages!

“I think you will be the last one to get married in our gang”, she said in a serious tone.

“Why? What made you think so?” I asked, all bemused.

“Cos, you know, hmmm.. you are not good looking”. She said as a matter of fact.

Mr. and Mrs.

This post is just to say a big "HAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIII!!!!" from us. Yes, we are back! You thought you had seen the last of us, didn't you! Buhaha!!! No way!

Finally, all the madness that surrounds a wedding is over and now we have some time to actually sit and think through what the hell happened in the past few weeks. Whatever it was, it was fun.

Yes, I did miss my family, but c'mon, how much more can I whine about it online. You are probably going to skip this post if I am gonna talk about that, anyway!

So, in short, yes - everything went well and no - my family has not contacted me yet nor do I expect them to anymore.

Wedding is a union of two families

It’s been a while since I jotted down something here. “You have completely neglected our blog”, John keeps on complaining. Last two months saw us going on an emotional roller coaster ride; thankfully together. Tumult is not over yet. My parents have arranged for a wedding ceremony at Guruvayoor, followed by a reception at Trivandrum. Obviously they have to answer to many inquisitive relatives, friends and neighbors who have always been peeping toms in our life.

A Marriage and A Wedding!

Yes, we did get married "legally" on 25 January, 2012!

Now, Jane's parents want to arrange a wedding... (And No, My parents will not turn up!)

Monday 13 February 2012

A Bad Egg!

"He is such a good kid!"

"He always listens to and respects his parents!"

"He started working soon after graduation to support his parents when they needed it."

"Then... He did his MBA...!"

"He cleared all his papers with good grades!"

The Tiny Silver Lining!

First of all, let me apologize for not blogging regularly. Things are pretty crazy here at our end with the registration coming up - we have zeroed in on the 25th of this month as the date. Couple of mutual friends are coming down on the 24th to be the witnesses. Am I tensed? Well, the butterflies in my stomach have laid eggs, hatched, and have fully grown into more butterflies... Why am I tensed? Not cos' we are taking the next step. But cos' I am scared that something will go wrong and it will not happen. That is the only thing on my mind, right now! And all I can do is pray at regular intervals...

Stigma and trauma of live-in relationship

She: So you are living with your boy friend?

Me: Yeah, since past four months

She: So its like.. you guys are like… husband and wife?

Me: Yes, kinda.. except that we are not legally married….yet.

She: Oh.. but other things.. you know what I mean.. like husband and wife?

Me: (stabs myself )

How Did You Welcome 2012?

How did we Welcome 2012?

Jane was actually working on New Year Eve! Can you believe it? She had office till 01:30PM. She had already made it clear that we are to keep this New Year Eve simple! So, I picked her up from work and had lunch at 'Beijing Bites'! Then we left to a friend place at Vivek Nagar.

Jane spent the rest of the evening crawling on the floor with their 7-month-old boy as we watched them play. We had a few drinks, then dinner. And left at around 10:30PM.
